Schubert’s famous Piano Quintet in A, “Trout” is paired with George Crumb’s masterful
and idiosyncratic Music for a Summer Evening, scored for two amplified pianos and two percussionists.
This epic of avant-garde chamber music weaves an astonishing number of musical, dramatic
and spiritual elements into an openhearted and uncompromisingly beautiful whole.

Noli Me Tangere
, composed by Felipe De Leon and considered to be
the first Filipino opera composed in the Western operatic style,
is based on a novel of the same title by the Philippine nationalist Dr. José Rizal.

September 14: The Pillar, an opera-in-progress by Luna Pearl Woolf
Based on the book, The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust, by Diana B. Henriques,
this workshop will feature a reading of the libretto and a performance of excerpts from the opera.
The orchestra is full of my closest NYC music friends, and will be led by Julian Wachner.
